Terry to present at the International Forestry Students Association (IFSA) Seminar on October 5th

Join us at 5 pm in room FSC 1221 on October 5th for Terry’s presentation on “Forests, food and a changing climate; What prospects for a sustainable food system?”

Terry Sunderland will explore the linkages between forests, trees nutrition and health based on a decade long programme of work on the topic. He will explore the direct contribution of forest foods to rural diets and how forests and trees contribute to, and sustain, agricultural production through the provision of a myriad of ecosystem services. How forests are managed for food production is also a critical and underestimated element of how agriculture and forest management are often combined in multi-functional landscapes, particularly in the tropics. He will also discuss how a changing climate is impacting our global food systems and what strategies are in place to ensure a future “food for all”.
