Consultancies

Members of the Sunderland Lab are often contacted to undertake additional work on a consultancy basis for external partners reflective of our expertise and commitment to research and policy solutions to environmental challenges. Recent activities within this domain include:

 

  • Facilitation of a five-year national biodiversity strategy for Liberia (funded by Flora and Fauna International in collaboration with the Government of Liberia)
  • Facilitation of a participatory stakeholder workshop for the Okomu Forest Reserve, Nigeria, with recommendations for management planning (funded by IUCN/BIOPAMA through a grant to SCERA
  • Navigating Benefit-Sharing Models in Carbon Markets: A Comparative Analysis of Blue Carbon Economies in Africa (funded by CoastMan Project )
  • Facilitated peer-to-peer knowledge exchange on the UN-REDD Howspace platform by moderating discussions, curating daily insights, and engaging with REDD+ African forestry stakeholders (Funded by CIFOR-ICRAF in collaboration with African Forest Forum)
  • Co-development of the TRANSFORM Project proposal in Malawi (Funded by Global Environmental Facility in collaboration with UNDP)
  • Co-development of the Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) for improved livelihood in Tuvalu project proposal (Funded by Global Environmental Facility in collaboration with UNDP)
  • Co-development of the  Regional Water Investment Programme Southern Africa feasibility study (Funded by the Green Climate Fund in collaboration with UNDP)
  • Co-development of the Carbon Markets funded Nigeria Community-based Forestry Project
  • Co-development of the Namibian Carbon Markets Framework and the Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategies (LT-LEDS) (Funded by UNDP-Namibia).
  • Provided technical advice and conducted a review of institutional structures and fee-setting mechanisms for carbon market transactions (Funded by the World Bank in collaboration with the Ugandan Ministry of Finance)
