As part of her PhD research into food security in the amazon, Winy formed part of the research project “One Amazon” and worked with Indigenous Asháninka communities from 2022 to 2024. During her time in Peru, she collaborated with two videographers to document and tell the stories that emerged throughout this collaborative research process. Thanks to funds from UBCs Public Scholars Initiative, the following video was created as an overview of the project and is told in the Indigenous Asháninka language by one of the projects Indigenous co-researchers and vice president of the local Indigenous federation. Winy collaborated with some of the filming and the translation for this video. (English subtitles can be activated by pressing the CC button)
